In a power from waste plant, the opening at the bottom of six refuse chutes were insufficiently large to prevent refuse from passing through cleanly thus, causing blockages and subsequent delays.
A combination of diamond track sawing, diamond stitch drilling, diamond drill and bursting was used to removed 5.00m x 3.00m x 0.40m deep sections of r/c walls.
The opening sides were then lined with galvanised, 10mm thick steel plates and the top leading edge fitted with 10mm thick steel angles.
